Teach For Armenia

Two Years of Service. A Lifetime of Impact.

The Teach For Armenia National Service Program is a two-year, full-time commitment to serve in Armenia's public education system. Participants teach, lead, and build alongside communities where opportunity has been limited—earning the experience, judgment, and responsibility that define true leadership.

This is not a volunteer opportunity.
It is national service through education.

Who Should Apply

We are looking for individuals who believe that leadership begins with service—and who are ready to commit fully.

You should consider applying if you:

  • Want your work to matter beyond yourself
  • Are motivated by responsibility, not comfort
  • Are willing to serve where the need is greatest
  • Believe education is foundational to Armenia's future

Our cohorts include:

  • University graduates
  • Early-career professionals
  • Diaspora Armenians seeking a meaningful return
  • Career-changers ready to serve

Backgrounds differ. Commitment does not.

Eligibility Overview

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) by program start
  • Commit to two years, full-time (including training and placement)
  • Be willing to relocate to a partner community (often rural or border regions)
  • Be legally eligible to live and work in Armenia for the duration of the program
  • Demonstrate alignment with our mission, values, and standards of excellence

Teaching experience is not required. We provide rigorous training and ongoing coaching.

Program Tracks

Applicants may be considered for:

Teacher-Leader Track

Classroom-based teaching and community leadership across all subjects.

Tech4Armenia Track

A specialized STEM-focused pathway addressing the national shortage of strong STEM teachers.

All participants commit to the same two-year service, training, and accountability. Tracks reflect focus—not level of responsibility.

The Application Process

Our selection process is designed to assess commitment, leadership potential, and readiness for service.

1
Online Application

Submit your application form, including background information and short response questions.

2
Interviews & Assessment

Selected applicants participate in interviews and evaluations focused on leadership, problem-solving, communication, and values alignment.

3
Final Selection

Admitted candidates receive placement preparation, training timelines, and relocation guidance.

Selection is competitive. We are transparent, rigorous, and fair—because the responsibility is real.

What You Receive

Participants receive:

  • Intensive pre-service training and a summer leadership academy
  • Ongoing coaching and professional development
  • A living stipend and program support
  • A pathway to professional teaching credentials (and a funded Master's, where applicable)
  • Entry into a lifelong alumni network of leaders across sectors

Before You Apply

This program is demanding. You will work long hours, face constraints, and carry responsibility for students' learning and well-being. In return, you will gain something rare: earned credibility and deep understanding of Armenia's systems and communities.

If you are unsure about your availability or readiness for the full two-year commitment, we encourage you to apply in a future cycle.
